Though often unnoticed outside laboratory environments, this incubator plays a vital role in ensuring reliable and consistent test results.

A Bio-Oxygen Demand incubator is designed to maintain a stable and controlled temperature, typically around 20°C, which is required for accurate BOD testing. During the test, water samples are stored inside the incubator for a fixed period, usually five days. Throughout this time, microorganisms present in the sample consume organic matter and dissolved oxygen.
